Abingdon Organics rests on seven and a half acres just west of Abingdon. Using innovative techniques such as cover-cropping, “farmscaping”, hoop houses and high tunnels, the Flaccaventos produce over 30 different types of certified organic fruits and vegetables from early May through October. Among the many items available are lettuce and greens, broccoli, cauliflower, tomatoes, peppers, berries, melons, garlic, onions, herbs an dozens of heirloom and traditional Italian varieties. Abingdon Organics sells at the Abingdon Farmers Market, local restaurants, through special orders, and at supermarkets through Appalachian Harvest.
